Blue Tongues and Pink Roses

Someone gave the girls lollypops at the beginning of church. I told them they had to wait until after church. Mia had no trouble remembering that. After church that was the first thing Mia asked for. I love how the blue mouth coordinates so well with her dress. I also took a pic of Leila's hair. Fresh roses out our doorstep- got to love California!

Rolling Over??!!!?!??

Lucy has been working on rolling over! We think it is absolutely crazy! She lifts up her body and then twists to work on rolling over. We'll keep you posted, literally (hee hee hee) on her progress.

Dedicated to You, Chesley!

A good friend of mine reminded me of my being a closet fan of the Spice Girls in college. Sam was chiding me about this and found the Spice Girls on Deezer.com. It seems that the girls like them too. What can I say, they do have a catchy tune. Chesley, wish you could have been here for the dance party!

Father of the Bride II

After watching Father of the Bride II you always think how strange that scenario would actually be. Well, it's seemed to happen in our home.  Mia is a great mom to her baby and to her baby sister. Here she is making sure that they have coloring books and crayons to play with.  Taken April 20th.

Roasting Marshmallows

Our friends had a backyard camp out and invited us over to roast marshmallows.  They live a few blocks away from us. I asked them the next day how the camp out went. Only Mark (the dad) ended up sleeping the night. There was a helicopter hovering overhead forever and then a rock band started playing. Our neighborhood can be quite lively at times.

Playtime at Claire's

The girls love playing dress ups at their friend Claire's house. They get dressed up upstairs and then they head downstairs to "the dance" that is downstairs on the hardwood floor where their shoes go "tap, tap, tap". Leila says when she goes to Claire's house they "We like painting and we like to hide. And we like to play with Baby Lucy. We like playing outside and inside."

Water Playdate!

Yep, the water fun has already begun here in Sacramento.

Fern

Mia ended up borrowing this dress from a friend because of a wetting incident and I thought it was such a sweet dress that I had to get pics. She reminds me of Fern from Charlotte's Web.

Leila's Sunflowers

We planted these from seed and they seem to really be sucking up the sunlight and water.

Lucy at two Months

Today Lucy is 2 months old. This video was taken on the 13th, so 1 day shy of two months. She can already play with one of her toys. She "talks" to us, as she learns to use her voice. There have been a few times where she has intently watched our lips as we speak to her as though she is really trying to figure out how we are able to make sounds come out of our mouths. She smiles for us occasionally and definitely has some tickle spots. We are still working out her sleeping schedule, but she has only been waking up about 1x/night- nice! For the most part she has been a pretty good baby so long as we stay home. She likes home, who doesn't?
Leila and Mia have been great big sisters. When we are out and someone talks to us, which we always get the, "Boy, you've got your hands full" comment, Leila always makes sure to tell them that she is the big sister. Mia loves to give hugs and loves to get her face right in Lucy's and say, "Juuuuuuicy, Luuuuuuucy". They are a lot of fun and keep me on my toes. Naptimes are wonderful, the only time the house is quiet. Once while I was in college Uncle Jim asked me what kind of music I like to listen to. After I rattled off probably every genre he informed me that one day I was going to enjoy silence and wouldn't want background music. I quietly thought to myself, "yeah, right!" Although I still enjoy music, I feel that I need to write him a letter to let him know that the time has arrived. I LOVE silence. Enjoy the video.

Up and Running

Well, so far, so good. We already have more than twice as many entries this year as we had in 2007. This will be the best way to keep people updated. So we are back in the blogging world!

Beauty Salon

I didn't have the heart to tell her that the doll had no hair.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

The crackling of the food cooking overpowers the song a bit, but here are our three girls with one of our theme songs.

Beep Beep

Sam put Lucy in the Tonka Truck and pushed her from one end of the room to the other. So, Sam and Mia were basically playing "catch" with Lucy. Lucy loved it!
