Mia Bug is a Four-Year Old now!

Some of Mia's gifts from family:
Hawaiian Gummy Worms with Li hing powder from Grandma Burgoyne
Snow White mini Polly Pocket type dolls from Grandma Burgoyne
A large, fluffy, lovable stuffed dog from Grandma and Grandpa Swenson
Jelly Beans from Aunt Amy, Uncle Matt and cousin Todd
A reading lamp from Leila
A backpack with sleeping bag and water bottle from Lucy
A Mia Bug doll from Mom
A goody basket with a movie from Dad
Mia wanted to play "Find the Fairy" at her Birthday Party, which is a game that Mia has made up that is kind of like hide-and-go-Seek except whoever is hiding is a fairy. We added a little twist and played it Sardines style. The kids really enjoyed it and wanted to play it over and over again. Here they are counting.
Now, where is that fairy? This fairy was in a good hiding spot, by the time this video was shot they had already all been looking for a long time for this fairy. Victoria had to give them pointers.
They finally found the Mackenzie fairy hiding in the bathtub!
Birthday Cake.

The night ended with Matt, Amy and Todd over for Thumbelina, popcorn and CANDY! Happy Birthday Mia Bug! We love you!

Christmas Party

All dressed up and ready to go.

Leila is an old pro.

Mia will talk to him from a safe distance with Mom holding her hand.

And Lucy, well... maybe next year.

Sleep Over!

The girls all crawled in bed with Leila. With how cozy they look, who wouldn't?

Grandma and Grandpa Swenson

We were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Swenson in Sacramento for a visit in November. We had a great and relaxed time with good company and good food. Unfortunately the only pics we got are pics of storytime.. oh well, at least we got those. We sure had fun, thanks for the visit!

Alphabet Soup and Our almost 4 year old

Leila has been sick today and so for dinner we had vegetable alphabet soup. Amelia was searching out the letters and naming words that went with the letters. Here is what she confidently shouted out:
"K for cake!" I was pretty impressed that she got the right sound with the word, then came,
"Y for Hawaii!" and then "B for bumble bee!" Sam and I smiled- now that was impressive.

Leila tried to tell her that Y is for Yak, but Mia confidently replied, "I am right and you are wrong". Immediately Sam and I thought about the movie, Matilda. "I'm right and you're wrong. I'm big and you're small"

Funny girls. They all got really cute fall aprons and chef's hats in the mail today from their Grandma Swenson. Leila was too sick to try hers out, maybe tomorrow.
